The series follows new parents Ava and Nathan, played by Kaley Cuoco and Chris Messina, who begin working on a murder case.

Given Ava, a pregnant real estate agent, and Nathan, an injured tennis pro, are short for cash, they decide to blackmail the plumber into giving a first hand account of a serial killer’s psyche, to broadcast on their true crime podcast.
