According to the courts, they committed a crime — including taking out massive fraudulent loans and then declaring bankruptcy to avoid paying them back. But seeing Todd and Julie get shorter sentences than Jen Shah — whose crimes targeted vulnerable, elderly victims — just doesn’t sit right with a lot of people.
