Julia Louis-Dreyfus is shutting down the comparisons between Vice President Kamala Harris and her fictional Veep character, Selina Meyer.
In a new interview, the star of the HBO comedy series explained why Selina Meyer is not like the Democratic Presidential nominee despite sharing a similar trajectory. In the Veep series, Timothy Simons plays Jonah Ryan, a power-hungry White House aide who eventually becomes the Vice President of the U.S. and is subsequently impeached. After Joe Biden announced he would not continue a run for a second term at the White House and Harris became the eventual nominee, viewership surged for Veep, but the creator of the series is reminding viewers the show was all fiction.
