Julia Donaldson's Gruffalo is returning in brand new book after 20 years
Julia Donaldson is set to release the first new Gruffalo book in more than 20 years - the first two books in the series have sold millions of copies and have been translated into 133 languages
Beloved children's author Julia Donaldson is set to partner with illustrator Axel Scheffler once again, as they work on a highly-anticipated new Gruffalo book – the first in over 20 years. Julia reflected on her motivation, saying: "It was only when the NLT, whose work I'm very impressed by, used the first two books as part of their Early Words Matter programme that I was spurred on to get my idea out of the cupboard and see once and for all if I could turn it into a really satisfying story." Although Axel has been reluctant about crafting another Gruffalo tale before, the new script from Julia ignited his enthusiasm to illustrate the cherished characters afresh.
