Judge Hears Arguments In Corporation For Public Broadcasting’s Challenge To Donald Trump’s Removal Of Three Board Members


The judge heard arguments on Wednesday.

CPB argued that it is an independent, non-profit corporation set up by Congress to protect it from government direction or control. At the hearing, though, the judge expressed some concern that the president’s action was motivated by a desire to hold sway over the board. The CPB received a $535 million allocation for this fiscal year, with more than two thirds going to public radio and television stations.
