In 1987, film-going audiences were treated the cheesy machismo that was “ The Running Man.” Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, the movie saw him pitted against the forces of a government-backed game show where he had to fight to win, survive, and live. Especially if you know about the history of “ The Running Man.” The property started off as a book by Stephen King, written under one of his pseudonyms, Richard Bachman, in 1982. Sounds like he’ll be the true villain of the film- the brutal chief hunter for the network airing the game shows who is tasked by Brolin with tracking down Powell’s character.
