Joni Mitchell will perform on the Grammy stage for the first time in her legendary career at the 2024 award show, taking place Sunday, February 4 at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena. The singer-songwriter, who is nominated for Best Folk Album for Joni Mitchell at Newport, previously received the Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002. Mitchell returned to playing live in 2022 following a two-decade-long absence from the stage, first making a surprise appearance at the Newport Folk Festival that year before making her official comeback at the Echoes Through the Canyon festival in June 2023; she also performed at a Gershwin Prize concert in her honor as well as a guest at Brandi Carlile’s Hollywood Bowl shows.
