Jon Stewart Suffers Bloody Injury On Air in 'Daily Show' Mishap

During 'The Daily Show' on Monday, February 24, Jon Stewart suffered a bloody on-air injury when he accidentally sliced open his hand

The comedian was in the middle of a monologue where he railed against Elon Musk ‘s Department of Government Efficiency [DOGE] for allegedly ignoring billions of dollars of pharmaceutical subsidies used to lower prescription drug prices. After playing an archival clip of the former U.S. President Joe Biden discussing his proposal to lower the prices of 10 commonly used prescription drugs, Stewart continued to impersonate a DOGE employee by angrily smashing his coffee mug against his desk. “Jon Stewart is the voice of our generation, and we are honored to have him return to Comedy Central’s The Daily Show to help us all make sense of the insanity and division roiling the country as we enter the election season,” Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios, announced in January 2024.
