Jon Stewart Slams Trump’s Comments About ‘Toy Rationing’ Pencils and Dolls: ‘A Depression-Era View of What Kids Play With in 2025’

Jon Stewart went after Donald Trump for comments suggesting that children may have to settle for fewer toys in his economy.

On this week’s episode of “ The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart went after Donald Trump for comments suggesting that children may have to settle for fewer toys in his economy. Stewart opened his monologue by recounting Trump’s Sunday interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker and feigning curiosity about how the president will thread the “rhetorical needle” of “taking credit for the remaining good parts of the economy, while subtly assigning blame to Joe Biden for some of the bad, on fire parts.” He went on to say that he works hard to “not take the bait” of Trump’s “flood the zone media ecosystem,” and tries to find solace in “things in my life that give me pleasure or peace.”
