Jon Stewart Skewers Chuck Schumer, Democrats’ Lack Of Gumption: “Don’t You Have To Start It To Keep At It?”
Seemingly unlike Democrats with president Donald Trump, Jon Stewart has a bone to pick with Chuck Schumer and the minority party's lack of cohesion.
Kicking off The Daily Show, the host tallied off a list of Trump developments from last week, even acknowledging a Deadline post about POTUS calling CNN and MSNBC “illegal.” Stewart quipped, “By the way, I’m not against everything he does,” feigning apologies for the jab at the rival cable channels. For a majority of the opening segment, Stewart went in on Schumer, who switched up his decision on the Republicans’ proposed funding bill, thus paving the way toward its passage and averting a government shutdown. Following an NBC News poll that boasted a 27% Democratic approval rating, Stewart decided to illustrate the dire situation in ways the perennially bespectacled Congress member might understand.
