Jon Stewart Says Apple TV+ Canceled His Show Because ‘They Didn’t Want Me to Say Things That Might Get Me in Trouble’


Jon Stewart's Apple TV+ series ended abruptly after two seasons. He says the tech giant "didn’t want me to say things that might get me in trouble.”

Stewart said he needed a platform to speak about the upcoming election, which he no longer had after Apple canceled his talk show last year. Members of the U.S. House of Representatives later questioned Apple CEO Tim Cook about whether the tech giant’s decision to cancel Stewart’s show was because the host may have been planning an upcoming episode about China. “Jen Flanz runs a ridiculous ship, she knows what she’s doing in a way that is really impressive to watch and all of the writing staff and producers, it’s a building filled with incredibly talented people.”
