On Monday, Daily Show host Jon Stewart ripped Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer(D-N.Y.) who — after folding on his plans to filibuster and vote against a GOP funding bill — revealed that he likes to talk with Republicans at the gym. Moments earlier, Stewart played a clip of Schumer telling the Times that Republicans began working with his party after Trump’s public approval rating dropped below 40%. He then blasted the plan for Democrats to keep “fecklessly complaining” until Trump’s approval rating sours, turning to a missing “crucial piece of information in Schumer’s popularity calculation”: the party’s historic unpopularity.
