Chu will make his Broadway directorial debut with a new stage adaptation of his 2018 hit film Crazy Rich Asians, producers announced today. The musical is described as a contemporary romantic comedy based on Kwan’s bestselling book trilogy and the Warner Bros. Pictures film directed by Chu. Book-writer Winkler’s credits include her plays God Said This, Two Mile Hollow, Kentucky, Hot Asian Doctor Husband, and The Brightest Thing in the World.
