Jon Landau, the Oscar-winning Titanic and Avatar producer who helped bring director James Cameron’s visions to life, has died at 63. The elder Landau died Friday in Los Angeles. Jon Landau helped make history in 1997 with Titanic, which became the first film to gross $1bn at the global box office.
