John Mellencamp, Emmylou Harris & More Shine at 2025 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala: 8 Best Moments

Here are 8 highlights of the 2025 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala, including performances by John Mellencamp, Emmylou Harris, Eddie Floyd and Susanna Hoffs.

JAY-Z, who is tied with Ye (formerly Kanye West), for the most Grammy wins by a rapper (25), didn’t even send in a video to acknowledge his Hall of Fame induction for his 1996 album, Reasonable Doubt. John Mellencamp performed two of his biggest hits, “Small Town” and “Jack & Diane,” as well as his 2008 song “Longest Days,” which he said was inspired by a conversation with his grandmother. Ledisi scored on a rousing rendition of Clara Ward’s 1951 gospel classic “How I Got Over,” as did Susanna Hoffs on a version of Cat Stevens’ “Wild World” from his 1970 album, Tea for the Tillerman.
