Following the Mets’ season-ending loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers Sunday, Oct. 20, John Mayer took to social media to praise the team and star Francisco Lindsor. Despite a slow start in previous seasons, Lindor’s grand slam during a game against the Philadelphia Phillies Oct. 9, helped the Mets land a spot in the championship series, the first time since 2015. He used the Mets games as a metaphor for his Sphere performances, comparing wins to the moments on stage when the “music was cooking, when the notes matched the intention, when the zone could be found.”
