John Krasinski To Star In ‘Angry Alan’ Off Broadway; Sam Gold Will Direct Inaugural Studio Seaview Production
The one-man play begins a strictly limited engagement on May 23 with an official opening on Wednesday, June 11.
John Krasinski will return to the Off Broadway stage this May in Angry Alan, Penelope Skinner’s critically acclaimed dark comedy that premiered at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Timely, provocative, and darkly comedic, Angry Alan explores one man’s journey down the digital rabbit hole – examining how far he’s willing to go, and how much he’s prepared to lose, for validation in a world where ‘everybody’s changing the rules. Director Gold, whose recent Broadway productions include Romeo + Juliet with Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler, An Enemy of the People with Jeremy Strong and Michael Imperioli, and Macbeth with Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga, said, “I’ve been looking for years to lure John to the stage.
