He recorded the hit track Happy Together during his tenure with the iconic musical group the Turtles. Jefferson Starship paid tribute to Barbata on Facebook, posting on Monday: 'We are saddened to hear of the passing of the great John Barbata, Jefferson Starship’s original drummer.
