Joe Locke Set For West End Debut After Wrapping ‘Heartstopper’ Film This Fall

After making his Broadway debut last year, Joe Locke is taking his performance prowess to London's West End, where he will star in 'Clarkston.'

Locke, who is also known for his turn in Disney+’s Agatha All Along, told BBC News he was “so excited” for the opportunity, saying the role reflects his desire to depict “flawed characters … who have a bit of bite.” Clarkston opens with the addition of a new hire Jake (Locke), a young gay man originally from Connecticut, who moves west after a diagnosis of degenerative neurological condition Huntington’s disease. In early 2024, Locke joined the cast of the Tony-nominated revival of the hit Stephen Sondheim-Hugh Wheeler musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street on Broadway, taking over the role of Tobias Ragg from Gaten Matarazzo.
