Joe Biden is doing some damage control after his words condemning the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico at Donald Trump ‘s Madison Square Garden rally were misinterpreted. “Earlier today I referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump’s supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage—which is the only word I can think of to describe it,” Biden said in a post on X, the microblogging platform formerly known as Twitter. During the call, Biden commented on comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s disgraceful “joke” referring to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage.”
