Jimmy Carter celebrated his 100th birthday 19 months after entering hospice. It is his first birthday celebration since his wife, Rosalynn Carter, died in 2023.
Jimmy, who served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981, was celebrated by millions across America on his special day. “He’s coming to the end, and he’s very, very physically diminished,” Jason told The New York Times before his grandmother’s funeral service. “I mean, the things that I think about that stopped me in my tracks about my grandfather are not about public legacy, but they’re about, you know, going fishing or, you know, him teaching my kids how to, you know, shoot a gun or how to clean a catfish,” he added.
