A Robert Johnson biopic from Jesse Collins Entertainment and Concord Originals is in development, Deadline can reveal exclusively.
The project will mark the first authorized narrative feature on Johnson, a figure famous for his culture-defining influence on rock legends like the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and Led Zeppelin. A notable aspect of Johnson’s real-life story that the film will hone in on is the enduring myth that he sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for his guitar-playing prowess.
