Jerry Seinfeld walked back his comments about the “extreme left and PC crap” suppressing comedy, admitting in a new interview with fellow comedian Tom Papa, “It’s not true.” Seinfeld made the remark on an episode of the New Yorker Radio Hour, arguing that the dearth of sitcoms like Cheers, All in the Family, and M.A.S.H. “When you write a script and it goes into four or five different hands, committees, groups — ‘Here’s our thought about this joke’ — well, that’s the end of your comedy.”
