Jerry Foley, the Late Show with David Letterman director who helmed close to 4,000 hours of late-night television and was nominated for two dozen Emmys, has died. He succeeded Hal Gurnee as director of the show in 1995 and helmed the late-night series until it ended in 2015. In addition to The Late Show, he directed all 72 episodes of Live on Letterman, and also worked on TheAlec Baldwin Show, Tony Bennett Celebrates 90: The Best Is Yet To Come and Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons: A Life on Stage.
