Jermaine Jenas starts 'new job' within minutes of BBC confirming The One Show sacking
On Thursday afternoon the BBC confirmed Jermaine Jenas had been axed from the channel, but the former professional footballer was back on air in a new role just a short time later
Jermaine's tenure at the BBC saw him in various roles, from Match of the Day punditry to co-hosting The One Show, last seen with Alex Jones on 22 July. The former footballer, who was widely tipped as the frontline runner to step in should Gary Lineker ever hang up his boots on Match of the Day, also beams as a presenter for the electric buzz of Formula E racing. Jermaine did not mention his axing from the BBC on the radio show (Image: Getty Images)Opening up about his unexpected detour into the high-voltage world of electric motorsport on That Peter Crouch Podcast, he confessed: "I always loved Formula One and this particular job came about because FE is a brand-new sport, it's only nine or ten years old."
