Jermaine Jenas sacked over alleged 'inappropriate messages' to female colleague at The One Show

Former England footballer Jermaine Jenas has been sacked by the BBC after the corporation reportedly received a complaint over text messages he is said to have sent to a female member of staff

In addition to his presenting responsibilities, Jermaine, a father of four, had previously led MOTDx, a show targeting younger viewers that ceased production last season. Prior to his television career, he enjoyed notable success on the pitch with clubs such as Tottenham, QPR, and Newcastle, and also represented England at the international level, achieving 21 caps. "That said, the Board will commission an independent review that will make recommendations on practical steps that could strengthen a workplace culture in line with BBC Values."
