Jeremy Clarkson confessed his promise of an all-British produce pub is leaving him out of pocket after not realising the cost of certain products and refusing to be 'business minded'
However, once the pub launched, the pubic weren't as quick to praise his pricing and took to social media to criticise the cost of food in the establishment. He gave the example of imported black pepper, which costs approximately £10 a kilogram from overseas, while a home-grown alternative can set him back ten times that. He had managed to keep food produce fresh and local, but revealed the challenge lay in his drinks menu – which he couldn’t keep UK based without making some big changes.
