Jennifer Love Hewitt tells PEOPLE 9-year-old son Atticus rubbed her back and "told me how proud he was" after watching her film a "really hard scene" on '9-1-1.'

"We got to eat lunch together in my trailer, and I had this really hard scene that I had to do where I was crying and he was just rubbing my back at the end of it, and he told me how proud he was.
