Jennifer Holliday initially had 'no idea about the impact' of Dreamgirls, the singer exclusively tells Closer, along with some of her fondest career memories.
“Audiences wouldn’t stop applauding, so they had to move it to right before intermission,” Jennifer Holliday, who originated the role of Effie in the show, tells Closer. David Kelley, [the producer] of Ally McBeal, was the only one who would hire me — although he almost didn’t give me the job because he wanted the other Jennifer Holliday.” As I get older, I’ve also been learning how to pay attention to my body more, to know what are symptoms related to MS and how to control stress.
