Jenna Fischer got fired from job for sneaking into SNL party: 'It was fine because I met Molly Shannon'

Jenna Fischer, a self-professed 'huge Saturday Night Live nerd,' put her job on the line to meet the 'SNL' cast while she was still an aspiring actress in Los Angeles.

"I'm a huge Saturday Night Live nerd," she said to preface the story of her fateful meeting with Shannon when she stopped by the Fly on the Wall podcast to chat with hosts Dana Carvey and David Spade. She worked part of the day before the SNL party, left under a false pretense, and rushed to meet her destiny after changing into a cocktail dress in her car. That year, Fischer attended the premiere of Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, which featured several SNL alums, including Kristen Wiig and Tim Meadows.
