Actress Jenifer Lewis is opening up about a harrowing 10-foot fall from a balcony that nearly killed her a year and a half ago.

During their first night, Lewis walked out onto the balcony to get a glimpse at the infinity pool, when suddenly she fell into a ravine full of sharp rocks. While she was waiting for her friend and medical help to arrive, Lewis added she heard a lion roar close by and saw a Cape buffalo just feet from where she landed. She then spent the next 10 months with at-home physical therapy, crediting her past as an athlete and dancer for helping her to get back into a more active lifestyle.
