News broke on Wednesday that Elway, 64, was allegedly driving a golf cart at the Madison Club in La Quinta, California, on Saturday, April 26, when Sperbeck — the retired football star’s former manager — fell off and hit his head. Courtesy of 7Cellars/Instagram“It was a reported fall from a golf cart and the patient was transported to a local area trauma center in unknown condition,” a spokesperson for Cal Fire shared in a statement on Tuesday, April 29. “I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken by the passing of my close friend, business partner and agent Jeff Sperbeck,” he told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
