Jean Smart Urges TV Networks to Donate Awards Show Funds to Fire Relief

Jean Smart has encouraged TV networks to donate their awards show budgets to Los Angeles fire relief instead of airing them this year.

Jean Smart, who won a Golden Globe on Sunday for her work on Hacks, has now encouraged TV networks to reallocate their budgets to help with fire relief. Hacks paused the production of its new season due to the fires and Smart, who won the Globe for Female Actor in a Musical or Comedy, is a long-time Los Angeles resident. Multiple other awards events, including the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Tea Party and the Writers Guild nominations, were either canceled or postponed.
