Jay-Z Asks Court to Sanction Rape Accuser's Lawyer in Dismissal Attempt

Jay-Z filed a new motion to dismiss a lawsuit accusing him of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 and asked to sanction the accuser's lawyer

In court docs obtained by Variety and Rolling Stone, Jay-Z’s attorney Alex Spiro points to a December 2024 interview with NBC News wherein the Jane Doe accuser admitted to making “some mistakes” within her claims. According to Spiro, “If lawyers do not face consequences for such a cavalier effort to destroy another person’s reputation and inflict emotional harm on his loved ones, that tactic will proliferate.” (The judge has also condemned Spiro’s “relentless filing of combative motions containing inflammatory language and ad hominem attacks” on Buzbee throughout the legal drama.)
