Japanese cinema icon Kitano Takeshi is shooting an untitled movie for Amazon MGM Studios.
Kitano Takeshi, one of the biggest names in contemporary Japanese cinema, is directing an untitled movie for Amazon MGM Studios. His works span art house drama (2002’s “Dolls”), period action (2003’s “The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi”), to contemporary crime (the 2010-2017 “Outrage” trilogy). “Kitano is an icon, not only in Japan but in the sphere of global film and media entertainment, and we’re thrilled to collaborate with him on the project, soon to launch on Prime Video,” said James Farrell, head of international originals, at Amazon MGM Studios.
