Jane’s Addiction Release New Single ‘True Love’ — Four Days After Onstage Fight and Tour Cancellation
Four days after an onstage fight between band members that led to the cancellation of their tour, Jane's Addiction have dropped a new song: 'True Love'
With minimal messaging and apparently not a hint of irony, troubled alt-rock quartet Jane’s Addiction have released a new single called “True Love” — two days after the band canceled their latest tour following an onstage altercation Friday that saw singer Perry Farrell punching guitarist Dave Navarro. The band had not announced the song on its social-media platforms at the time of this article’s publication, although it was serviced to media Wednesday morning with a brief press release that included a quote about the group’s previous single, “Imminent Redemption,” which was released in July, and the following simple sentence: “Today, the original line-up vocalist Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, and bassist Eric Avery debuted the new single ‘True Love,’ available now across all digital streaming platforms.” The onstage altercation — which took place in Boston on Friday night — led to the cancellation of the remaining month’s worth of dates on the first tour in 14 years by the band’s original lineup.
