Jane Fonda, 87, admits she still hasn't spoken to Sydney Sweeney, 27, about the Barbarella remake but will share her ideas 'if she asks' - after previously expressing her 'worry' over new film


The screen legend, 87, famously starred as the astronaut in 1968 adaptation of the French comic book series by Jean-Claude Forest.

White Lotus and Euphoria star Sydney, 27, is set to step into her shoes and take on the lead role in a new version, which is to be directed by British film-maker Edgar Wright Along with Jane, the original Barbarella also starred John Phillip Law, Anita Pallenberg, Milo O'Shea, Marcel Marceau, David Hemmings, Ugo Tognazzi and Claude Dauphin. News of the remake with Sydney in the titular role went public in October 2022, and was confirmed by the actress in an Instagram post, where she declared, 'time to save the universe,' in the caption, alongside an illustrated poster from the original movie.
