Jane Fonda Doesn't 'Feel Like an Old Person' at 87: I'm Younger 'in All the Ways That Matter'

Jane Fonda said that she does not "feel like an old person" even after turning 87 in December 2024, in part due to her longstanding enthusiasm for physical fitness. "I’m much younger than I was when I was in my 20s, in all the ways that matter," she said.

Fonda spoke with The New York Times about her exercise routines, personal style and thoughts on aging in an article regarding her new sneaker campaign with the brand Golden Goose published Tuesday, Feb. 18. I’m much younger than I was when I was in my 20s, in all the ways that matter," she said, after speaking to her fondness for the brand's sneakers and working out with a trainer every day. In her PEOPLE interview, Fonda also looked back on the influence of her 1980s-era exercise videos on a generation of women's fitness habits; she recalled receiving letters from women around the world who spoke to her videos' positive impact on their lives.
