After TMZ reported that the 57-year-old Academy Award winner was allegedly involved in an altercation at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Friday, Dec. 13, a spokesperson for Foxx tells PEOPLE that the actor was hit with a glass during the birthday celebration. Foxx's birthday dinner comes just days after the actor and comedian celebrated the release of his Netflix special, which chronicles his medical emergency that began on April 11, 2023, and the complications that followed. In the clip itself, Foxx added that he "hadn't been on the stage officially in 18 years" and described how the crowd in "Atlanta made it feel like I ain’t lost a step."
