James Taylor Apologizes After Being Cut From the Democratic National Convention


James Taylor has spoken up about his cut performance at the DNC, saying that he's "sorry to disappoint."

The legendary songwriter was slated to close out the evening with Carole King’s “You’ve Got a Friend,” but was reportedly cut after continuous applause from the audience led to a time crunch. Taylor spoke about the cancellation on social media, writing that he had a great rehearsal and that it was “exciting to see and hear so many of the speakers at the opening night of the Democratic convention here in Chicago.” Even after cutting elements to save time, President Biden ‘s emotional speech was lengthy, reaching nearly an hour.
