James Norton looks set to defend the Anglo-Saxon throne from French invader Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in the first glimpse from upcoming medieval drama series “King and Conqueror.” Norton plays Harold, Earl of Wessex in the series as he prepares to face Coster-Waldau’s William, Duke of Normandy at the famous Battle of Hastings. “Harold of Wessex and William of Normandy were two men destined to meet at the Battle of Hastings in 1066; two allies with no design on the British throne, who found themselves forced by circumstance and personal obsession into a war for possession of its crown.”
