James Nesbitt's BBC crime drama has been cancelled after just two series after viewership plummeted

James Nesbitt's BBC crime drama has been cancelled after just two series following a poorly performing second series.

'Bloodlands may have reached its natural conclusion with James Nesbitt’s character, DCI Tom Brannick, being revealed as serial killer Goliath, but I really wanted one more season for him to finally get his comeuppance and for me to be the one to serve it to him. Charlene, 40, has starred in the likes of Peaky Blinders and Ripper Street and now she is playing a housewife with a secret in Irish psychological thriller Clean Sweep. Bloodlands was produced by Jed Mercurio, the man behind Line Of Duty, also starring James, Bodies, and Bodyguard with Richard Madden.
