James Gunn Reveals ‘Superman: Legacy’ Title Change on First Day of Filming


"Superman: Legacy" is now simple titled "Superman," writer-director James Gunn announced on the first day of filming.

David Corenswet, best known for supporting roles in Ryan Murphy shows such as “Hollywood,” is playing the eponymous superhero opposite “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Nicholas Hoult is taking on the role of Superman’s infamous villain Lex Luthor, while Gunn’s cast also includes Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Nathan Fillon (Guy Gardner), Isabela Mercad (Hawkgirl) and more. Speaking to Variety at the SAG Awards, Brosnahan said it was thrilling to hear Gunn’s words aloud.
