Was Supergirl always meant to be the second movie in the DC Universe? James Gunn reveals how the Woman of Tomorrow film started production so soon.

With award-nominated actress Milly Alcock set to portray the hero and director Craig Gillespie at the helm, the project is truly shaping up to be something special. While speaking at a recent DC Studios press conference, James Gunn revealed that Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow wasn’t always supposed to come out of the gate swinging. Anyone who has read the original Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comics knows James Gunn is certainly right about needing a very different adaptation of the iconic heroine to bring the movie to life in the DC Universe.
