James Bond star Joe Don Baker dies at 89 as family share heartbreaking statement
Actor Joe Don Baker, who appeared in a number of high-profile movies including two James Bond films, has died at the age of 89. Joe's family have released a statement
His family remembered him fondly, saying: "Throughout his life, Joe Don touched many lives with his warmth and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him." Beyond his iconic James Bond franchise appearances, the Texas-born Joe also starred in Walking Tall, portraying Sheriff Buford Pusser. Phil Karlson, the director of Walking Tall, attributed the film's triumph to "a deep hunger to have a man in a movie who is big, powerful and one people can look up to", as he explained to the New York Times.
