Jamal Roberts reflects on his 'American Idol' season 23 win, performing with Jelly Roll and his plans for the $250,000 cash prize
After his big win, Roberts flew from Los Angeles to New York City for a Good Morning America appearance but went right back to dad life in Meridian, Mississippi. Disney/Christopher Willard Roberts recalled performing “Liar” and “Unpretty” with the “authentic and real” Jelly Roll during the American Idol finale. The series premiered in 2002 on Fox with a star-studded judging panel consisting of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.
