Jack O’Connell To Play Villain Role Opposite Michael B. Jordan In Ryan Coogler’s Genre Pic For Warner Bros

Jack O'Connell is circling the villain role opposite Michael B. Jordan in Ryan Coogler's untitled event film for Warner Bros, sources tell Deadline.

The film brings Jordan and Coogler together following their collaboration on the Creed and Black Panther franchises, having first worked together on the acclaimed Sundance pic Fruitvale Station. It’s also the second project from the collaborators that Warner Bros Film Group co-chairs and CEOs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy have championed, after greenlighting the box office hit Creed III during their time at MGM. Up next, O’Connell will be seen starring opposite Marisa Abela in Focus Features’ Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black, out May 17, portraying the late singer’s ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil.
