Jack Nicholson Makes Rare TV Appearance at ‘SNL50,’ Introduces Adam Sandler’s Heartfelt Song Honoring the Show’s History
Jack Nicholson earned loud applauds as he introduced Adam Sandler for his "SNL50" performance.
“Everyone in this room has something in common,” Sandler, who spent five years on “ Saturday Night Live ” from 1991 to 1995, began in his number, which highlighted the many iconic sketches, behind-the-scenes jokes with the crew, a few fun jabs at Lorne Michaels and an honor to the late performers, namely Chris Farley and Norm Macdonald. Sandler appeared to choke up a bit while singing lines that remembered a moment he came upon Farley crying while listening to a KC & the Sunshine Band song: “I said, ‘Buddy, how the hell is that making you so sad? Kenan Thompson, Pete Davidson, Maya Rudolph, Jason Sudeikis, Tiny Fey, Amy Poehler, Eddie Murphy, Ana Gasteyer, Tracy Morgan, Rachel Dratch, Leslie Jones, Laraine Newman, Chevy Chase, Kristen Wiig, Chris Rock, Fred Armisen, Will Forte, Molly Shannon, Jane Curtin, Garrett Morris, Seth Meyers and Will Ferrell were among the former “SNL” cast members in attendance.
