Jack Blocker left season 22 of ‘American Idol’ with valuable insight from the judges, including his ‘good friend’ Katy Perry
Blocker noted that he and judge Katy Perry are “close” now — and even called her “a good friend.” Their bond, however, was “definitely not” what he was expecting when he left the room for the first time because he thought they didn’t get off “on the right foot.” American Idol paved the way for reality competition shows to help everyday people achieve their dreams of music stardom. The series premiered in 2002 on Fox with a star-studded judging panel consisting of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.
