After sending Tanner, who is big fan of Black’s 2008 animated film Kung Fu Panda, a video message to tell him to “keep up the great work” and to promise that they’d meet in person “someday soon,” the 55-year-old actor surprised Tanner on the April 3 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show. Leading up to their in-person encounter, host Clarkson told the 25-year-old Netflix star that Black recorded a second video, with an unexpected ending, for him to watch. The School of Rock star busted through the studio doors and ran straight to the Clemson University graduate, who jumped off the couch to give Black a big hug and express his shock at finally meeting him.
